Can you disable the light that comes on when the camera is operating?

These cameras are ok but my issue is the recording time is only 20sec. Then it stops recordings, also it doesnt pick up all motion. Sometime people walks up to the door and it doesnt even pick them up..

I have 5 Annke DVRs that I've been buying since 2016 and all of them are still running at my business. About 20 cameras total of which maybe 8 have failed over these 9 years (and replacements cost $20 Amazon), all my cameras are indoor though so using outdoor, who knows? All I can say is that all of these DVRs together have cost me about $2000 max and I cant complain at all. I guess it also depends on your needs :)

Thank-you for this great straight forward video lesson. I live in an apartment in a high crime part of town. I want to put up a security camera that covers my front door and one that covers the parking lot out back. Owner of property won't allow us to mount on outside of building. Other tenants in the building do have outdoor security cameras mounted indoors. They do work. Based on your video I think a 2 camera WiFi system would be a good match for me. I also think I would go with the PTZ type because the main thing we are tracking in the parking lot is people prowling the cars. So motion activated with a wide pan angle and color night vision. I have mine on my back porch. It is on my WIFI system which may not get the best coverage. I do have an ethernet cable from my router plugged into a network switch there. My camera is powered by 110vac on my back porch. Can I also plug the camera's ethernet into my switch on my back porch to ensure a good connection?

I have several Eufy cameras and they are aweful at best. They go offline for no reason, incredible amount of false motion alerts and have missed every actual event that i was hoping to capture. I would not recommend at all.

I have used this brand for several years. And since a certain firmware version of the NVR recorder, I have been solving problems. With rok support, I solve several problems that these NVR devices have, and loop support corresponds to the same. Reluctance to solve anything. I am moving away from this brand because it totally ignores bugs in NVR firmwares and 3rd party camera support. Motion detection at the lowest sensitivity disaster. The manufacturer received a list of problems from me, to which he did not respond in any way. I recommend everyone to look for another brand. No one communicates with you, no one will give you company management. An absolute disaster. They tried to shut me up by offering me a free camera as compensation, but I was not concerned about the camera, but rather that I would not suffer financial damage and damage to my name. I do not recommend ANNKE.

I just bought one and I can’t scan the cr code to add this device then asks to manually type it but it’s asking for the 8 digit cr code but there isn’t one on the box or camera

Regarding the solar portion of this camera, in your opinion, would bright but indirect sun exposure be enough to power the camera? I'm thinking of mounting under the eave of our south facing roof. We live in Florida, so there's plenty of sunlight, but I'd like a little eave protection from the elements and it would look cleaner, installation-wise. Thanks for what you do!

So glad you're feeling good. I installed the Smart Keypad and Camera.. They both work fine, except Face Detection, which I really wanted. The app says it's not available in my location (Greater Chicago!). Guess I'll have to find Tech Support to see when/if I'll get that. Also, you can add remotes so they're ID'd, but can't seem to find a way to add my Tesla's HomeLink or the in-garage keypad. Getting so many unidentified Opens is disconcerting. Thanks for you videa. BEWARE, DON'T BUY THIS MODEL! The integrated solar panel will flake/peel off; as such the purpose to recharge the battery become useless.

It's truly unbelievable Google is leaving money on the table without coming out with a new 4K camera. You hit on every point on how I feel about the 24/7 video recording, not only do we need it but it has to be sharper and not throw so many false notifications. I'm still using the Nest app and so far it still works, but if you say Google Home App is better and the way to go I may have to give it a try. Also, Apple is truly dropping the ball by not getting into the security camera game, yes, they are probably working on something right now but they are so far behind.

If a solar panel camera is anything like a good solar light that you poke in the ground for your home, then it will most definitely need “direct sunlight” for at least eight hours a day?… right ? or am I wrong. I have bought what I thought to be good solar lights for my yard and they just aren’t so great if they don’t get direct sun for at least 8 hours every single day. And in Cle Ohio, we happen to get a lot of cloudy snowy days in the winter.😢
