I bought a Reolink Duo 2 and I'm sending it back. It just doesn't work like it should. It'll record a UPS truck going past my garage, then 3 minutes later the UPS truck leaves and it records nothing. I'm looking for something to replace it and I may try one of these next. Thanks!

There are different versions of this Solar kit available with either 2k 3MP or 2k QHD (at least here in the UK). Obviously the price increases accordingly. Not sure why Tapo would only send you the 1080p version to review.

This is a great idea but horrible design. The battery life is horrible with no other option for power source. Without the subscription, it is basically just a fancy keypad. This could have dominated the market, had they offered other power sources and atleast offer free alerts/video wothout cloud storage. Based on customer service - they have no plan to rectify the shortfalls. Sounds really odd coming from one of the largest garage door opener manufacturer in the world.

Hey George, like always great video. Just one question I do have HomeKit secure and I am looking for an outdoor camera. What do you suggest it is for my parents home. They live alone and I want a camera for their safety and overall well-being.

I would not recommend a wifi battery camera's for outside surveillance. They are easily jammed with a flipper-zero or similar devices. Stick with a wired setup to prevent attackers from bypassing your cameras. It might cost more and a pain in the a?? to setup but worth it.

hi GEORGE, i live in shithole CA. some people moved into the house across the street from me. they put 2 cameras on the front of the house, pointing at my house. i called the city. they said there is nothing they can do. what can i do to take down these cameras? every time i go out my front door my blood pressure goes thru the ceiling. im sorry about your health. I just bought this camera and it will not connect to my wifi. It says it won't run off of 5ghz. It only works on 2.4 ghz. My Comcast service is 5.

Something that I noticed was that they advertise it as 1080P and call it 1080P in the app. However the resolution is quite a bit higher than the standard 1920x1080. Awesome review, George.

I’m going to try this with scrypted to see if this works with HomeKit. This would be perfect for my backyard.

First - I hope your health is getting better each day and that life is treating you well. Second - I have had it with waiting for good HKSV cameras. I held off as long as I could and am now going with Unifi. Outdoors, the Eufy cams have terrible detection with HKSV, Logitech Circle View just does not cut it. NOT doing Nest with Starling as Google still gets a copy of the feed and their outdoor cam is not great. (Terrible Cool Off Time and poor Night Vision) Have to draw the line.

Spouse approval factor is low since it doesn't integrate to Apple Home.

Hey George! Just found your channel and enjoyed your review. I'm a fan now of ReoLink too! It came down to the ReoLink Duo 2 Wifi or the Lorex 4K Dual-lens Wifi Camera. The difference for me was how fast the ReoLink app works. However, the Lorex is a solidly built camera with a better 180º image stitch. Would you consider doing a review of it on your channel in the future? Thanks!! :)

I gave up as well. Two huge things for me that kept me with ring are smart displays, and no options for video doorbells. It’s a deal killer for me. I also experienced cameras not working in HomeKit and needing to be reset to appear 👎🏾

Nice tour, great setup. I really wish on all these Smart Tours (yours and others) that there would be an overlay showing the product name, if it is native Homekit, and possibly price range. Watching on the TV I have to then look at my phone to see if gadgets are listed in the lengthy description.

G'day. I have 15 Reolink cameras installed at the moment. All fixed 5MP except for an 823A and 1 Duo2. 2 ofthe 5MP cameras have better image detail than standard 8MP as they have optical zoom (at full zoom). The PTZ is usually aimed at an intersection to capture everyone in the area. It is also great for watching things as they happen without having to go outside. I run floodlights facing the road every night (corner block) allowing most the cameras to remain in colour.

Are you utilizing Ecobee as your security system since you have their sensors on the doors/windows? What has your experience been like there?

Best wifi one for my bedroom? I have a roommate & he goes in my bedroom & bathroom when i'm not home. I am a woman & he is a man... im 22. I don't want it to be obvious, but they'll find out there's a camera in there anyway at some point. Whichever is best. Bc there have been occasions where they come into l my room at night unwelcomed.
